 12-year-old boy escapes house fire A 12-year-old boy escaped his burning home last night. The fire started just before 10, and quickly spread through the garage, second floor bedrooms and into the roof. The Colorado Springs Fire Department says the boy and three dogs were in the house at the time. All made it out.
"The family lost quite a bit this evening, but thankfully everybody is safe," said Lt. Brian Keys, Colorado Springs Fire Department. "We have American Red Cross here to help them out, give them a place to stay if they need it and give them food and clothing."
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
